Over, the image is beautiful and is a good example of a life-realistic photo. Model and makeup were both good choices, and some of the striking points are aspects such as the blue tinted reflection at the eyes and the depth of field effect being as dramatic as it is in the background.
The cons of the image range mainly in the perception and subject matter. From an artistic perspective, the empty space along the left upper corner is too much- The eye strains to be carried into the image, and the flow of the branches push the eye away from center and back off the left edge of the image again. Instead of drawing into the eyes, the eyes travel from left corner, along the left most branch and the curve of the hair, and back off the frame. Two ways to solve this is to have some sort of interruption in that left area to trap the eye inside the image, of to have a little bit of space between the head and branches so the eye travels from left, down the branches, and along the right side of the head instead. (In the later, the eye would travel down the hair cascade and cheek, and be caught at the shoulder and back up again, centering the image.
Subject matter wise, there's a conflict- the model is very serene and peaceful looking- no laughing face, no wide smile, very calm. The scattered branches and falling petals are very active and the disorder in them adds a more tense environment to the image. Contrast can be a great tool in this way sometimes, but in this image it seems to be too balanced and washes out the serenity of the image. You could try cropping the image closer to the head, giving more of a full facial shot - this would cut out some of the branches and allow the model's mood to be dominate, and could correct the eye becoming lost at the edges of the pic.
All in all, a good pic, and very good potential. I'd have loved to have seen a few more shots taken at the same time from different angles, just so you had a choice on the most dramatic impact.
As always, IMHO <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/> Be well!
